Get involved in Citizens for Safety’s postcard campaign to draw attention to the problem of illegal gun trafficking and mobilize support for solutions. Postcards display facts about gun trafficking, capture people’s personal stories of the trauma caused by illegal guns, and call for improvements to the state database of firearm sales. Activists will gather for an event in the summer of 2009 to deliver thousands of postcards, read firsthand accounts from victims and survivors, and demand meaningful laws to crack down on trafficking.

“I was hanging out with a friend in the afternoon and later that
day he was shot and killed. I don’t want to end up like that.”

Join Citizens for Safety to keep guns away from criminals and
juveniles. 3 steps you can take right now to make our streets safer:

  1. Ask Where did the gun come from? after every shooting to focus attention on
gun dealers/ traffickers who supply guns to criminals and juveniles illegally.
  2. Host a Traffick Jam Community Workshop to learn who arms criminals and teens,
how federal and state laws protect gun traffickers, and what we can do to reduce
    gun violence and save lives.
  3. Sign a postcard to urge legislators to close a loophole in Massachusetts law by
creating an electronic database of firearms sales. It’s time we modernize our firearms
database and give law enforcement the tools they need to track all crime guns back
    to the source.
